Technology Twente
Technology Twente
The combination of customer-oriented thinking, craftsmanship and a modern automated computer-controlled machine park including a well-equipped measuring room means that Technology Twente is regarded not only as a producer but above all as a partner, acting at both regional and international level.
The following machines are connected
- 3x Fehlmann with Heidenhain controls
- 3x Hermle with Heidenhain control
- 1x YCM with Heidenhain control
- 1x Nakamura with Fanuc controller
Advantages of using Smart Factory
Technology Twente has been a user from the very beginning, and we also had alternative software in place before Smart Factory. Because we think it’s important to have the conversation as factual as possible. So, what exactly are spindle hours? At Technology Twente we make those hours visible everywhere via screens. Every 24 hours. To compliment when a shift was able to run unmanned, for instance, and to identify improvement potential (more unmanned).
Previously, we only saw machines with Heidenhain controls, but now we can also monitor machines with other controls, e.g. Fanuc/Siemens etc., without further adjustments to our machinery.
Further advantages
- Actual determination of spindle hours
- View spindle hours remotely (e.g. at home) with mobile, tablet or PC
- Precise cycle times linked to article numbers, which can be used for accurate post-calculation
- Overview of machine error messages
- Notifications via the app in case of machine faults or downtime
Recommendation
The potential of Smart Factory is great:
Maximize busy machines in terms of hours. View longer periods instead of 24 hours and identify structural causes of downtime. Eliminate manual hour bookings and automatically book numbers, to eliminate manual errors and track operations on our machine in real time.
Automate post-calculations and/or make them more accurate.
In the future, Smart Factory will work with time filters to analyze specific time blocks, such as night or weekend work.
